We understand that the music can make or break a party, which means we as the band are one of the most important factors in your event. To help you out here are some questions and answer:
How would we describe our style?
I would say it eclectic. We play Swing, Jazz, Standards and Older Rock (50s,60s. 70s and a few popular songs…but we don’t rap or do funk!!
Can you come hear us?
Sure…just give me a call and we can let you know where and when.
Does the band use amps, etc.?
Yes, but we limit the sound coming out. We know that this is a party and we will create the party atmosphere, but not be so loud that you have to constantly ask us to turn down. We play mostly acoustically and use the amps, etc. for vocals, electronic keyboard, etc.
Can you play a requested song, like a traditional tune or favorite pop hit? We have hundreds of songs to choose from for your event, but if you have a specific song, please let us know and give us as much time as possible. We probably know the song, but if not, we will have it ready for your event. Give us a call and let’s discuss your needs.
How many musicians are in the band? Do you do vocals? What are the options as far as how many musicians/instruments we can hire? We have the ability to play anywhere from a duo to a full Big Band. We also have the ability to limit vocals or no vocalist. Let us know what your budget is and we will work with you to give you the best music possible at an affordable price.
Does the band bring all its equipment or do we need to supply any instruments (a piano for example) or equipment (extra speakers etc.)? We will bring our own equipment, instruments, speakers, microphones, etc. We need electrical power available.
What does the band typically wear? We always come dressed for the occasion. We will always check with you to find out what would be appropriate.
How many hours are included in a package?
That depends on the party. We do not book for less than 2 hours, simply because the setup, etc. takes time. We can comfortably play up t 4 hours. Please call so we can discuss.
How do you handle song requests? This is a twofold answer. As I stated earlier, we have hundreds of songs to choose from for your event, but if you have a specific song, please let us know and give us as much time as possible. We probably know the song, but if not, we will have it ready for your event. Give us a call and let’s discuss your needs.
Now if you are asking if someone can sit in…the answer would be “it depends”. We want the best possible music for the event and if you feel a guest can add to the event
Can you act as Master of Ceremonies?
The answer is yes. Please let us know any specifics, i.e. Introduce speakers, tell people when dinner is served, any other announcements.
What is the backup plan if there’s an equipment malfunction?
We have spares of just about everything, so we would change out any troublesome cables, etc. If we lost power, with certain setups we still can perform acoustically (with no power or amps)
What is your cancellation policy?
If you change your date, change your mind, or cancel the event we would expect 25% of the fee. This is to reimburse us simply for lost opportunities.
How would you motivate a shy crowd to dance?
We would encourage the crowd by hand clapping, and select songs that will naturally get people moving.
There are many other questions you might have…please feel free to contact me so we can discuss your party/event/wedding/get together more…so you can make the right choice.
Thanks for considering us.
